This has gotten very ugly very quickly.
... and I wish I could have the choice to not be here.
I have children at home, a son and a daughter who barely know me -- and a wife I miss dearly, who deserves better than the life of standing at a window waiting. I should be there, with them, and it unrest just gets stronger and stronger every day. This isn't a Western war. It's different when I'm keeping Rowan lands safe from banditry. That is my duty, my responsibility.

A mess. A disaster. And getting worse by the day.

The two of you are very chummy with Lord Hasten. I don't suppose he's mentioned anything about that patrol he sent out, days ago. I've been watching, and they haven't returned. Nor have any riders come bearing reports or other messages.
If anyone would know, it would be one of you.
