Martha's spirits do seem considerably lifted at the prospect of a party. Not only hers, but the rest of the household as well, despite the fact that we will still be missing certain family members.
The people are at least slowly adjusting to the absence of Glenn, though not gladly. I can imagine the women may still be looking to see him riding in one day. And perhaps they will, though hopefully things will be quite different by that point.
It would seem that Lord Thomas's wedding day draws ever nearer. Father of course curses this news, though with some amusement at the long courtship. At least he has Glenn and Chloe's prospects to look forward to, and soon enough, Dillon.
And Aaron... Aaron must be to my other children what Byron was to all of us. Yet not too much like Byron. I must take care in his upbringing so that my children do not suffer as this family has.
My wife would probably say that it is too early to worry of such things. I know full well how fast time passes. He may be young now, and more impressionable than ever. We must stay the course.
